Georgia seeks to enter the Scandinavian market through Lithuania

In Tbilisi, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania Rimantas Sinkevičius met Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikashvili. The sides discussed prospects of the bilateral cooperation in the field of transport, Lithuania’s Ministry of Transport and Communications says in its press release.

“The prospects of the cooperation in the field of transport were core of the discussion. Our colleagues from Georgia are interested in container train “Viking” and the facilities the port of  Klaipėda is offering. It was agreed that, in the near future, the representatives of Georgia will come to Lithuania and visit the container terminal of  Klaipėda as well as Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal” said Rimantas Sinkevičius, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania.

In addition, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikashvili was interested in the development of broadband infrastructure in Lithuania and JSC “Lithuanian railways” locomotives. Minister Rimanatas Sinkevičius noted that Georgia would like to reach the Scandinavian market by using Lithuanian logistics services.
