On January 28, 2015, Pella Shipyard launched tugboat MB-96 of Project PE-65 for the Baltic Fleet, the shipyard’s press center says. During the year the ship will be delivered to the customer, RF Navy and will join the fleet.
Assignment: towing of vessels and floating objects in harbor areas and open seas; performing of escort operations at the speed of 10 knots; fire fighting operations at floating and shore objects; rescue and salvage operations; ice–breaking of up to 0.6 m ice at the speed of up to 6-8 knots.

In order to fulfill fire-fighting operations the tugboat is equipped with external fire fighting system made by FFS (capacity is 1,500 m3/h, 2 water monitors, water curtains system).
