Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports 14.7% to 11.39 mln t in Jan’15

In January 2015, seaports of Ukraine handled 11.39 mln t of cargo (+14.7%, year-on-year), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled  3,962,000 t (35% of the total volume).

Other port operators (mostly private operators) handled 7,429,000 t (65% of the total volume) including 3,917,000 t of cargo handled by private stevedoring companies through the berths of USPA (34% of the total volume).

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 7,363,000 t (+ 6.7%, year-on-year), import – 1,879,000 t (+ 118%).

Transshipment of transit cargo totaled 1,988,000 t (- 7.1%), coastal trade cargo – 160,000 (+368%).

In the reported period, seaports of Ukraine handled 44,554 TEUs (-13%, year-on-year).
