European Containers (ECS) and Containerships have agreed to enter into cooperation starting February 2015, the company said in its press release.
The cooperation will be related but not limited to the following aspects:
The combination of the partners' transportation networks will allow a geographically enlarged coverage for the benefit of the partners' customers.
Land transport synergies generated by combining the partners' import and export flows in continental Europe, the UK and Ireland will enable significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
Synergies at sales and customer service level will be achieved through common representation, starting with ECS being appointed as agent of Containerships in Italy as from February 14th.
Common container pool will ensure a better container availability and an improved competiveness resulting from reduced empty positioning costs.
