Throughput of Chinese ports up 4.8% to 970.59 mln t in Jan’15

In January 2015, the ports of China increased their throughput by 4.8%, year-on-year, to 970.59 mln t, says the Ministry of Transport of the Government of the People's Republic of China. In the accounting period seaports of China handled 681.1 mln t of cargo (+3.1%), river ports – 289.58 mln t (+9%).

Container throughput climbed by 7.3% to 17.84 mln TEUs including 16.06 mln TEUs in seaports (+6.6%) and 1.77 mln TEUs in river ports (+14.1%).
