In January 2015, the port of Helsinki (Finland) handled 850,000 t of cargo (-1%, year-on-year), the port authority says. According to the statement, imports declined by 3% to 350,000 t, while exports remained steady at 410,000 t. Over the reported period, the port was visited by 622,000 passengers (+2%, year-on-year).
The Port of Helsinki is one of the largest ports in Finland, the largest passenger port and the third largest in the Baltic Sea. In 2014, the port handled 10.8 mln t of cargo (+4%, year-on-year).
