Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports up 3.2% to 23.4 mln t in Jan-Feb’15

In January-February 2014, seaports of Ukraine handled 23,456,000 t of cargo (+3.2%, year-on-year), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled 8,358,000 t (36% of the total volume). Other port operators (mostly private operators) handled 15,098,000 t (64% of the total volume) including 8,035,000 t of cargo handled by private stevedoring companies through the berths of USPA (34% of the total volume).

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 15,528,000 (+3.7%), import – 3,483,000 (+77.7%), transit – 3,731,000 t (+12.7%), coastal trade cargo – 714,000 t. Container throughput in seaports of Ukraine totaled 88,639 TEUs (76.1%, year-on-year).
