RF President signs amendments into Merchant Marine Code of Russia
RF President has signed the Federal Law “On Introduction of Amendments into the Merchant Marine Code of the Russian Federation in the Part Related to the Seafarer's Identity Cards”, Kremlin press center says.
State Duma of the Russian Federation passed the Federal Law on March 17 and the Federation Council approves it on March 25, 2015.
The Federal Law bans certification and providing seafarer's identity cards to persons from the list of organizations and natural entities involved in extremism and terrorism activities under Article 6 of the Federal Law Concerning the Counteraction of the Legitimization of Proceeds of Crime and the Financing of Terrorism.
Identity cards provided earlier to such persons are to be withdrawn under the newly signed Law.
The Federal Law is based on the Seafarers' Identity Documents Convention (No. 185) ratified by the Russian Federation.
