Navigation opens on the Neva river on April 4, 2015
Navigation opens on the Neva river (Saint-Petersburg) from Blagoveshchensky Bridge to Bolshoi Obukhovsky Bridge and on the Malaya Neva river from the headwaters to the Tuchkov Bridge on April 4, 2015 (at 09:00, Moscow time), says the press center of Volga-Baltic Basin Authority.
Special attention should be paid to the traffic safety at the beginning of the navigation period. It is recommended to pass the rivers during daytime with obligatory obtaining of related information and weather forecast.
All vessels entering the Neva should have an agreement with the Volga-Baltic Basin Authority on supervisory control and valid ship's papers. The vessels should be technically sound, automated identification system should be permanently on. Passenger ships should have valid licences for transportation of passengers.
Owners of passenger ships should provide the traffic control center of the Volga-Baltic Basin Authority with the time-schedules for each ship, by 09:00.
In 2014, navigation on the Neva started on March 28.
