Dredgers working in new Suez Canal project succeeded in lifting 126 million, 350thousand cubic meter of sand saturated with water
Vice admiral Mohab Mameesh, head of Suez Canal authority announced that dredgers working in new Suez Canal project have succeeded in lifting 126 million, 350thousand cubic meter of sand saturated with water in the Canal, with an average daily dredging of one million and 520 thousand cubic meters, the company said in its press release.
Engineer Wagdy Zaki, executive manager of the project’s dredging works assured yesterday: Monday the existence of 36 dredgers currently working in the project’s three sectors; amongst which 21 dredger belonging to “ Netherlands Belgium Emirates” league working in new Suez Canal navigation channel, and have succeeded in lifting 89million,568 thousand cubic meter of the saturated sand with a percentage of 50% whereas 10 dredgers are working in the western branch of the canal in the Lakes’ Zone affiliated to the” Belgium American” league and succeeded in uplifting 30 million, 402 thousand cubic meter with a percentage of 66% .
Besides 5 other dredgers affiliated to Suez Canal authority working in ElBallah branch where they succeeded in lifting 6 million, 387thousand cubic meter of the saturated sand with a percentage of 41.02.
