Serenade of the Seas makes her maiden call to Passenger port of Saint Petersburg

Today, May 21, a new vessel has visited Passenger port of Saint Petersburg, that has not come to the Port before – Serenade of the Seas, the port’s release says. The ship has brought over 3 000 people to Saint Petersburg, including passengers and crew.

 

Serenade of the Seas, which belongs to the cruise company Royal Caribbean & Celebrity Cruises, has made her visit to St. Petersburg during her first 2015 Baltic Sea cruise. The 7-day journey also includes Copenhagen, Stockholm, Tallinn and Helsinki.

 

Serenade of the Seas is a sister ship of Brilliance of the Seas and Jewel of the Seas that both have been to Passenger port of Saint Petersburg before. Featuring twelve decks, Serenade of the Seas was delivered in 2003, and the famous Hollywood actress Whoopi Goldberg became its godmother. The ship is 293 meters long, has a draught of 8.5 meters, fits 2 490 passengers and has a cruising speed of 25 knots.

 

Ten calls of Serenade of the Seas are planned in the current cruise season, as well as 8 calls of her sister ship Brilliance of the Seas.

Today the cruise ships Costa Luminosa and Regal Princess are also at the Port and will continue their Baltic Sea cruises already this evening.

Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg «Marine Façade» PLC is in the ownership of the city of St. Petersburg and is the largest passenger seaport in Russia. Construction of Marine Façade began in 2006. The port can accommodate cruise and ferry ships of up to 330 m long and with a draft of up to 8.8 m. The length and depth of new access channels - 10 km and 11 m, accordingly. The port operates seven piers. The quay wall length – 2,171.06 m.
