RF Government has issued an Order (No 1129-r, dated June 17, 2015) on establishment of the center for construction of superlarge marine facilities in Belokamenka (closed administrative-territorial unit of the Murmansk Region).
The Order signed by RF Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev recommends federal executive authorities and local self-governing authorities of the Murmansk Region facilitate providing of the plots of land for construction of the Center facilities and speed up the process of expert approval and granting of permits.
Murmansk Region Governor Marina Kovtun and Chairman of the Management Board of NOVATEK Leonid signed a cooperation agreement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2015) on June 19, 2015. The document outlines strategic areas of cooperation between Murmansk Region Government and NOVATEK including the establishment of the center for construction of superlarge marine facilities, implementation of the project on comprehensive development of Murmansk Transport Hub, development of Murmansk port’s special economic zone, supply of liquefied natural gas to the region.
The project on establishment of the center for construction of superlarge marine facilities was initiated by NOVATEK. Under the agreement, NOVATEK will participate in the projects on the development of Murmansk Transport Hub and Port SEZ.
NOVATEK is going to build three floating LNG plants by 2020. Each plant with annual capacity of 6.5 mln t is supposed to be used within the framework of Yamal LNG project (port Sabetta, opposite shore of the Ob Bay).
As Aleksey Tyukavin, First Vice Governor of the Murmansk Region, told IAA PortNews, NOVATEK has already registered a new company – Kolskaya Verf (Kola Shipyard). It will be located on the western shore of the Kola Bay, at Belokamenka settlement.
The shipyard’s total area is 841,000 sqm. Two dry docks are to be built there: 400х185 m and 400х205 m, depth – 15.7 m. Production capacity of the facility for construction of superstructures – 120,000 t per year, for construction of gravity base structures – up to 200,000 t per year. Total investments into the project – some RUB 25 bln. The first phase is to be put into operation in the forth quarter of 2017.
Kolskaya Verf LLC (fully owned by NOVATEK) was set up on May 20, 2015. Director General – Victor Nekrasov. Authorized capital – RUB 2 mln.
