RS takes part in MIOGE 2015
Between 23 and 26 June 2015, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) will be taking part in the 13-th Moscow International Exhibition MIOGE 2015, a major event with the participation of the global and national leaders of the oil and gas industry, RS says in its press release. More than a 1 000 companies from more than 40 countries will be representing their products and services at the exhibition.
Represented on RS stand this year are services in all the areas of the RS activities in the oil and gas industry including drilling equipment certification, plan approval, survey of construction and operation of oil and gas field development facilities, hi-tech large oil and gas tankers as well as multipurpose ships for oil and gas production platform support. Special attention is given to RS participation in hydrocarbon extraction projects implemented on the Arctic shelf of the Russian Federation.
As an internationally recognized classification society, RS develops and promotes high maritime safety standards. RS is a recognized expert and absolute leader in the survey of items designed to operate in harsh ice conditions. RS competence is in demand in different projects, from the construction of icebreakers, large oil tankers and gas carriers for the Northern Sea Route to floating storage regasification units (FSRU).
Built to RS class is the northernmost all-year operating fixed offshore ice-resistant marine oil export terminal Varandey, ice-resistant fixed offshore platforms IFP-1 and IFP-2 of Yuri Korchagin field, semi-submersible MODUs Polyarnaya Zvezda and Severnoye Siyaniye as well as Prirazlomnaya, the only ice-resistant fixed offshore platform engaged in oil production on the Russian Arctic shelf. Classed with RS are Arctic 70 000 dwt shuttle tankers of Vasily Dinkov series and LNG carriers of Velikiy Novgorod series fitted with 170 000 cubic metres membrane cargo tanks. Also under RS survey is the construction of the new Arctic tankers of 42 000 dwt and cutting edge high Arctic class (Arc7) gas carriers for the Russian project Yamal LNG.
The largest offshore project involving RS is V. Filanovsky oil and gas condensate field development in the northern part of the Caspian Sea – the largest field by oil deposits among those discovered in the Russian offshore area since early 2000s. RS surveys its facilities from oil and gas extraction platforms to subsea pipelines as well as their sea transportation and installation. Presently fitted out at sea, adjusted and passing delivery tests are IFP-1, living quarters platform LQP-1, central processing platform, riser block platform as well as subsea pipelines (interfiled and export pipelines) with a total length of 334 km. Platforms IFP-2, LQP-2 sub-structures are being prepared for transportation.
