In January-June 2015, Odessa Commercial Sea Port handled 11,950,800 t of cargo (+3.5%, year-on-year), says the press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
Transshipment of dry cargo totaled 9,323,100 t (+8.9%), liquid bulk cargo – 2,627,700 t (-15.6%).
The majority of cargo is comprised by grain – 33,535,700 t (+30.8%, year-on-year) and ferrous metal – 3,147,900 t (+44.5%).
The port’s leading stevedoring companies are Brooklyn-Kiev Ltd. (3,047,500 t), GPK Ukraine (1,796,100 t), Metalsukraine Corp. Ltd. (1,378,000 t) and Olympex-Coupe (1,175,4 00 t).
Odessa Commercial Sea Port operates in one of the largest ports of the Black-Azov Sea Basin. Technical facilities of the port allow handling of more than 14 million tonnes of dry cargoes and 24 million tonnes of liquid cargoes annually. The port’s passenger terminal accepts vessels of up to 300 meters in length. In 2014, throughput of Odessa Commercial Sea Port climbed by 6.1%, year-on-year, to 24.5 mln tonnes.
