In January-June 2015, port Kavkaz handled 8,933,000 t of cargo (up 80%, year-on-year), Harbour Master of port Kavkaz Yevgeny Tuzinkevich told IAA PortNews.
Off-harbour transshipment complex handled 4.2 mln t of cargo (+36%, year-on-year).
Transshipment of oil products increased 44.8% to 4.016 mln t, grain – up 65.9%% to 404,000 t, sulphur and mineral fertilizers – down 25.5% to 736,000 t, LPG – down 2.7 times to 113,000 t.
Exports from port Kavkaz dropped by 59.2% to 342,000 t, imports – down 30.1% to 229,000 t, transshipment of coastal trade cargo – up 9.5 times to 4,364,000 t.
Bunker sales at the port climbed by 0.9% to 250,400 t.
Passenger turnover jumped 4.1 times to 1,375,019 passengers.
The number of calls increased by 34.7% to 7,858 calls.
Port of Kavkaz is situated between the Azov and the Russian Black Sea coast. The depth of 4.5 meters allows for handling river boats and seagoing ships (off the harbour). The port’s facilities are intended for handling bulked cargoes (mineral fertilizers, concentrates of various ores, grain) as well as general, timber, and containerized goods. In 2014, the port handled 10.17 mln t of cargo.
