Hapag-Lloyd will restructure the existing West Africa Service Network, currently comprising of our West Africa Express Loops, WAX1 and WAX2, the company said in its press release.
Hapag-Lloyd decided to continue with an own standalone West African product, offering weekly fixed days departure from Antwerp and Hamburg directly to West Africa.

Hapag-Lloyd will be merging both complementary West African Loops into one single comprehensive service that will provide:
Weekly, fixed day and direct connection from Antwerp and Hamburg to West Africa and vice versa
Most competitive transit times to and from key markets in West Africa
Connection to the Hapag-Lloyd’s comprehensive global liner service network at major North European as well as Mediterranean transshipment ports
The enhanced West Africa Service (WAX) will start in week 33 followed by a phase-in period.
