Overcrowded yacht capsizes in Chelyabinsk region, one missing

A sailing yacht on July 26, 17:45 (UTC) tipped over on Turgoyak Lake, Miassky Urban District, Chelyabinsk region, because it was overcrowded, regional Emergencies Ministry said.

The yacht designed for accommodation of four people was reportedly carrying on board 13 passengers.

The crew of Miassky Post of the State Inspectorate for Small Boats rescued nine yacht passengers (including a 3yrs old child), three people rescued themselves swimming to the shore. There is one passenger of the yacht still missing.

The incident was reported by the guards of a recreation facility nearby. The yacht capsized near the Vera island, 350 meters off the coastline.

It is also reported that all the passengers were without lifejackets.
