Matson rated as the top ocean carrier in the world
For the second consecutive year, Matson, Inc., a leading U.S. carrier in the Pacific, has been rated by shipping customers as the top ocean carrier in the world.
The Number One ranking was bestowed by Logistics Management magazine, whose annual Quest for Quality Awards survey of qualified buyers of transportation and logistics services is considered the most important measure of customer satisfaction and performance excellence in the industry.
The magazine's 32nd annual survey this year drew more than 4,600 participants who rated transportation companies in all modes and service disciplines against five key criteria: On-time Performance, Value, Information Technology, Customer Service, and Equipment & Operations.
Of the nine domestic and foreign companies in the ocean carriers category scoring high enough to earn Quest for Quality Awards for 'above and beyond' performance, Matson topped the list for a second time.
Matson sister company Matson Logistics also earned a Quest for Quality Award this year in the Intermodal Marketing Companies category.
The 2015 Quest for Quality awards will be formally presented at a ceremony in San Diego on September 29, during the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) Annual Conference.
