Combined transport operator Hupac has launched a new rail feeder shuttle between the Combinant terminal in the port of Antwerp and the C.Ro Terminal in the port of Zeebrugge, in order to widen its customer services to and from the United Kingdom.
Zeebrugge constitutes for this rail service with traffic originating from Verona and Barcelona, the shortsea link to the United Kingdom and Scandinavia. Hupac Intermodal offers three times a week a shuttle in both directions. The train loads 30 TEU spread over 10 wagons.
This new rail shuttle broadens Zeebrugge’s network of intermodal rail connections. Up til now Zeebrugge offers on a weekly basis about 35 direct rail shuttles to Northern Italy.
Through the Combinant terminal Zeebrugge is now connected to destinations such as Bettembourg, Duisburg, Poznan, Le Boulou etc.
On demand of the market the frequency of this new rail shuttle might be increased in the future.
