Throughput of Vostochny Port JSC up 10.6% to 1.83 mln t in September’15 (photo)

In September 2015, Vostochny Port JSC handled 1,832,100 t of cargo (+10.6%, year-on-year), the stevedore’s press center says.

In the third quarter of 2015, the port handled 6,080,500 t of cargo.

In January-September 2015, coal exports via the Company’s berths totaled 17,300,300 t, up 5.6% against 16,377,800 t a year ago.

According to the statement, the growth was driven by the efforts of Specialized Coal Terminal which handled 1.77 mln t of cargo in August (+2.3%, year-on-year) while Universal Handling Terminal increase its result by 14.5% to 473,500 t.

JSC Vostochny Port is the major stevedoring company of Russia specializing in coal transshipment. As of today, export coal (mainly coal mined in Kuzbass) accounts for 98% of the company’s turnover with 1.5% of the coastal trade coal and 0.01% of other cargoes. The company’s assets include a Specialized Coal Terminal with conveyer equipment system and railcar unloading station and a Universal Handling Terminal which specializes in clamshell coal handling. The Terminals’ annual capacities are 14.2 mln tonnes and 3 mln tonnes respectively.

In 2012, Vostochny Port commenced the construction of the Third phase of the Coal Terminal.
