In January-September 2015, seaport Yuzhny (Ukraine) handled 35,477,900 t of cargo (4.5%, year-on-year), says Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
In the reported period, exports totaled 27,589,900 t (+5%, year-on-year), imports – 3,773,600 t (+38.2%)
Ttransshipment of grain totaled 6,843,900 t (+17.7%), ore – 19,218,300 t (+10.1%).
Yuzhny port is located at the north-western coast of the Black Sea, in ice-free Maly Adzhalyksky (Grigorievsky) estuary, 30 km from Odessa port. The port’s approach channel is 3 miles long and 18.5 meters deep. The port’s major stevedoring company is the state-owned Commercial Sea Port Yuzhny.
