Ships of Russia's Black Sea Fleet conducted exercise in the Mediterranean Sea
On October 5, the flagship of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet – Guards missile cruiser Moskva, guard ships Landy, Pytlivy and Smetlivy within strike groups performed combat firings at aerial and surface targets using air defence and artillery complexes within the final stage of the tactical air defence exercise of the Black Sea Fleet ship division. According to the press center of RF Defence Ministry, they used jamming complexes and reactive depth bombs as well.
The day before, within the exercise, military seamen practiced escorting of a the sea convoy, which involved seven warships of the Northern, the Baltic and the Black Sea Fleet from the permanent formation of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea.
Earlier the ships of the division had searched for imaginary enemy submarine involving a Ka-27 naval aviation helicopter, organized air defence, performed missile launches at sea targets, rendered assistance to a distressed vessel, conducted damage control trainings, as well as joint maneuvering and refueling from the large sea tanker Ivan Bubnov.
In total, over 30 combat training tasks have been accomplished in the course of a week.
