Delegation of Murmansk region to take part in events connected to the rotation of the Barents chairmanships

The XV Ministerial Session of the Barents/Euro-Arctic Council, as well as the Regional Council and the Regional Committee of the Barents/Euro-Arctic Region meetings will be held in Oulu on October 14-15, 2015. Together with colleagues - the heads of regions - participants of the Barents cooperation Governor Marina Kovtun will attend the XV Ministerial Session and the meeting of the Barents Regional Council, press center of Murmansk Region Government says. At the Ministerial Session Russia will take over the chairmanship of the Barents Euro-Arctic Council from Finland. The Arkhangelsk region of Russia, in turn, passed the chairmanship of the Barents Regional Council on to the region of Kainuu, Finland. Also within the framework of a bilateral meeting with the heads of the Finnish province of Oulu a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Murmansk region and the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia, the Regional Office of Northern Finland and the Center for Economic Development, Transport and Environment of Northern Ostrobothnia is planned to sign.
