Throughput of Chinese ports up 2.9% to 8.6 bln t in 9M’15

In January-September 2015, the ports of China increased their throughput by 2.8%, year-on-year, to 8.6 bln t, says the Ministry of Transport of the Government of the People's Republic of China. In the accounting period seaports of China handled 5.9 bln t (+1.9%), river ports – 2.67 bln t (+4.8%).

Container throughput climbed 4.9% to 156.6 mln TEUs including 140.2 mln TEUs in seaports (+4.4%) and 16.39 mln TEUs in river ports (+9.7%).
