RF Ministry of Industry and Trade says Russia can build 6 large and up to 20 midsize fishing ships per year

Russia industry can build 6 large and 15-20 midsize fishing ships project year, Denis Manturov, RF Minister of Industry and Trade said at the presidium meeting of the State Council on the Development of Fishery Industry chaired by RF President Vladimir Putin. According to him, this scope of construction will cover the demands of the Russian Federal Fisheries Agency.

As Arkhangelsk Governor Igor Orlov said at the meeting, the construction of fishing ships is encouraged by the Federal Law No 305-FZ. According to the regional governor, three trawler ships were built with support of this law.

Meanwhile, Ilya Shestakov, Head of the Russian Federal Fisheries Agency, and other meeting participants say additional encouraging measures are required.
