In January-September, 2015, throughput of Nika-Tera terminal (Ostchem Holding, Ukraine) fell by 11% to 2,896,700 t, the company’s press center says.
In the reported period, transshipment of grain accounted for 48% (1,385,300 t), mineral fertilizers - 21% (609,100 t), dry bulk cargo - 30% (887,600), general cargo - 1% (14,700).
Transshipment of transit cargo climbed by 53.2% to 734,000 t while exports fell by 21.6% to 2,013,600 t, imports – by 23.19% to 135,000 t.
In September, Nika-Tera terminal handled 277,400 t of cargo including 121,000 t of grain, 13,100 t of mineral fertilizers, 142,300 t of dry bulk cargo. The company handled 15 dry cargo ships. Transshipment of export cargo totaled 194,700 t; import - 17,700 t, transit 64,000 t. Besides, 1,000 t of cargo was loaded onto railcars for further transportation across Ukraine.
Specialized Seaport Nika-Tera LLC was established in 1995. The terminal is located on the left shore of the Bugsko-Dneprovsky estuary, some 34 miles from the sea. Bugsko-Dneprovsky canal linking the port with sea provides round-the-year navigation 24 hours a day for vessels with draught of up to 10.3 meters. In 2014, the company handled 4.5 mln t of cargo (+21.2%, year-on-year).
