RF Government expands limits of port Vanino for creation of coal terminal at cape Burny
RF Government Decree dated October 28, 2015 (No 2178-r) expands the limits of port Vanino (Khabarovsk Territory). According to the Government’s statement, the expansion is intended for implementation of the new investment project on construction of a coal terminal near cape Burny and is focused on the development of port infrastructure, construction of new transshipment facilities and generation of new jobs in the Far East region.
The project is to be implemented within the framework of the Federal Targeted Programme “Economic and Social Development of the Far East and Baikal region till 2018” (approved by RF Government Decree No 480 on April 15, 1996. It is included into the state programme “Social and Economic Development of the Far East and Baikal region.
Implementation of the project is to be based on the principles of private-public partnership. FSUE Rosmorport and Far East Vanino Port LLC have signed an agreement on cooperation in the project implementation.
The project is valued at over RUB 11 bln including RUB 260 mln from the federal budget and RUB 10.8 bln of investments.
The coal terminal is to have the capacity of 15 mln t. The complex will include a pier for coal transshipment and an approach facility.
