Wim Biesemans joins the Belgian dredging, environmental and marine engineering group DEME. Biesemans will join DEME's management team as CEO of DEME Concessions. He will oversee all concession activities related to infrastructure, renewable energy (offshore wind and wave and tidal energy) and marine resources, the company said in its press release.
Wim Biesemans is certainly no stranger to the renewable energy sector. As CEO of Parkwind he was actively involved in the development of the offshore wind farms Belwind, Northwind and recently also Nobelwind. Prior to that he worked as CFO at several retail companies, such as Colruyt and Lidl, and served as Senior Audit Manager at EY and Arthur Andersen.
Over the next few months, Marc Maes will gradually hand over the DEME Concessions files to Wim Biesemans. DEME wishes Wim Biesemans every success as he embarks on this new challenge and thanks Marc Maes who transformed DEME Concessions into a key pillar of the DEME Group.
