    Throughput of port Tallinn (Estonia) down 18.5% to 19.2 in 10M’15

    In January-October 2015, the Port of Tallinn (Estonia) handled 19.2 mln t of cargo (-18.5%, year-on-year). According to the Port Authorities, container throughput dropped by 20.7% to 176,400 TEUs, Ro-Ro cargo increased by 7.9% to 3,641 units.

    Passenger traffic climbed by 1.8% to 8,346,900 people.

    The number of cargo ships’ calls fell by 15% to 1,417 vessels, passenger ships’ call – increased by 10.4% to 4,561 vessels.

    Port of Tallinn ranks fourth largest seaport, next to St. Petersburg, Primorsk and Ust-Luga, on the Baltic Sea. The Port comprises five so-called port zones: Muuga, Old City Harbor, Paljassaare, Paldiski South and Saaremaa. In 2014 throughput at Tallinn port totaled 28.32 million tonnes.
