Container throughput of port Hong Kong (China) down 8.7% to 17.04 mln TEUs in 10M’15

In January-October 2015, port Hong Kong (China) handled 15.04 mln TEUs (-8.7%, year-on-year). According to the port authority, throughput of the port’s largest terminal Kwai Tsing fell by 11.5% to 13.08 mln TEUs, other terminals handled 3.9 mln t (-1.9%).

Port Hong Kong is one of the world’s largest ports. It is capable of handling 456,000 vessels per year. In 2014, the port’s container throughput hit 22.27 mln TEUs.
