Backlog of orders of Afrikantov design bureau (JSC Afrikantov OKBM, Nizhny Novgorod) totaled RUB 15 bln in 2015, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Aleksandr Bakhmetjev, Deputy Scientific Director of the bureau.
According to Aleksandr Bakhmetjev, this sum includes RUB 3 bln recieved by the bureau for construction of equipment for RITM-200 intended for icebreaker Arktika, lead icebreaker of the new generation being built by Baltiysky Zavod (Saint-Petersburg). Total value of RITM-200 is RUB 8 bln.
Aleksandr Bakhmetjev also said the backlog of orders will make RUB 24 bln by 2019.
RITM 200 is a two-reactor RP with capacity of 175 MW each. RITM 200 is almost twice easier and more compact, accordingly, it is cheaper on material consumption and occupies less place on a vessel; consequently, it is more cost-effective.
The LK-60 icebreaker, the first icebreaker of the new generation, is under construction at Baltiysky Zavod. The ship was designed by Central Design Bureau Iceberg in 2009. The lead 60 MW icebreaker of Project 22220 ordered by Atomflot was laid down in November 2013. The icebreaker’s advanced dual-draft capability makes it suitable for operations both in the Arctic waters and in the mouths of the northern rivers. The icebreaker will be operating in the western region of the Arctic: the Barents, Pechora and Kara Seas and in shallow waters of the mouth of the Yenisei and the Ob Bay.
