RF Government has published a resolution on Measures to implement the President’s Executive Order, On Measures to Ensure the National Security of the Russian Federation against Criminal and Other Unlawful Acts and the Application of Special Economic Measures in Relation to the Republic of Turkey.
In particular, a list of agricultural produce, raw materials and food products originating from the Republic of Turkey, the import of which is banned from 1 January 2016, was approved.
The document includes the list of agricultural goods, raw materials and products of Turkish origin not allowed for imports into the Russian Federation from January 1, 2016.
The resolution was developed in keeping with Presidential Executive Order No 583 of 28 November 2015, On Measures to Ensure the National Security of the Russian Federation against Criminal and Other Unlawful Acts and the Application of Special Economic Measures in Relation to the Republic of Turkey (hereinafter referred to as Executive Order No 583).
The resolution, in particular, approves a list of agricultural produce, raw materials and food products originating from the Republic of Turkey the import of which into the Russian Federation is banned from 1 January 2016.
The restrictions regarding the listed products do not extend to goods imported for personal use in amounts allowed under the regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture have been instructed to continuously monitor and control the prices of the listed products and, if necessary, ensure the implementation of measures to increase the supply of industrial and agricultural products to prevent price increases.
The Ministry of Transport has been entrusted with introducing, from 1 December 2015, a ban on charter air flights between Russia and Turkey, except for special flights for the repatriation of tourists in Turkey, and with implementing additional measures to ensure transport (air) safety on regular air links with Turkey.
The resolution also provides for a number of other measures to implement Executive Order No 583.
The resolution enters into effect on the day of its official publication.
