KAMPO shipyard (KAMPO OJSC, Svetly, Kaliningrad Region) has fulfilled the state contract for delivery of a series of multi-functional modular vessels of Project 23370. According to the company, official tests of the last two serial vessels (СМК-2169 and СМК-2171) were completed in Sevastopol on November 25, 2015. The vessels have joined the fleet of RF Navy and will do their service within the emergency and rescue unit No 145.
Under the state contract with RF Defence Ministry, it took three years to build 12 vessels of Project 23370 for RF Navy. The vessels have joined the fleets of the Black Sea, Baltic Sea and Caspian Flotilla, the statement says.
Boats of Project 23370 are used as a multi-functional platform, carrying specialized equipment and technical appliances. The boats, depending on the equipment installed on them, can be used as diving support, search and rescue, fire-fighting, medical vessels, as well as port security vessels and clean-up boats.
KAMPO OJSC (earlier known as Orekhovo-Zuevo design bureau of oxygen equipment) was set up in 1953. It is a part of TETIS Group. The company manufactures vessels for RF Navy under the state order within the framework of Naval Construction Programme through 2050.
