Bagayevsky low head hydrosystem at the Don river is to be put into operation in 2019-20, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Victor Olersky, Deputy Transport Minister of Russia, as saying at the Transport Week-2015 being held in Moscow. According to him, the project has been approved by the Ministry of Finance and the designing is to be commenced in 2016.
Bagayevsky low head hydrosystem is needed due to extremely low water level at the Lower Don.
