Busan Port Authority became the first port in the nation to issue "Korean-English Bills for Port Facility Charges", the company said in its press release.
The world's 6th largest port, Busan Port, is the port of call for 30 global shipping companies. However, foreign shipping companies that did not have branch offices in Korea use local agencies when calling at Busan Port. These agencies had to translate the port facility charge bills into English for foreign clients.
To this end, BPA decided to issue Korean-English port charge bills q-from September, after the a one month test period, in order to resolve inconveniences. Furthermore, this new issuing service enabled agencies to enhance their work efficiency drastically by reducing previous work procedures.
An official q-from shipping company 'A' stated "This new service helped us comprehend Busan Port facility charges q-and transparency was enhanced greatly."
BPA Customer Service Center Chief KIM Chan-gyu said "We are planning to introduce various measures to minimize inconveniences for customers q-and to improve service at Busan Port."
Meanwhile, the BPA Customer Service Center also offers a Busan Port Facility Guidebook for its clients q-and provides x-x-document acceptance without clients' presence.
