In January-November 2015, seaport of Azov handled 8,978,000 t of cargo (-22.3%, year-on-year), the port Harbour Master Vladimir Bragin told IAA PortNews.
In the reported period, transshipment of grain fell by 1.4% to 4,833,000 t, oil products – by 48.4% to 2,936,000 t, while coal transshipment increased by 35.8% to 595,000 t.
The number of incoming/outgoing ships fell to 3,914 / 3,898 in 11M’15 against 4,276 / 4,771 in 11M’14.
In November, the port’s throughput excluding transit fell by 2.7%, year-on-year. In the 11-month period it fell by 4.5%, Vladimir Bragin said. The Harbour Master attributes the decrease to reduction of oil products transit from inland water ways.
Sea port Azov is located in the mouth of river Don.
