Tapani Voionmaa, Group General Counsel at Finnlines Plc, has been elected as Chairman of the Board for the Finnish Shipowners’ Association (FSA) for the period 2015–2017, Finnlines said in its press release.
The Finnish Shipowners’ Association (FSA) is a trade association with an interest in industrial and labour market policies regarding the shipping industry. Its members include 25 Finnish shipping companies and over 100 vessels.
FSA aims to safeguard the competitiveness and operating conditions of Finnish shipping companies in all sectors being active in the key forums of the industry on all maritime policy issues both in Finland and in the EU as well as with the European Community Shipowners Association (ECSA).
Tapani Voionmaa has also been elected as Chairman of the Board of the Maritime Foundation for period the 2016–2018.
The Foundation supports and promotes shipping and shipbuilding industry in Finland by providing scholarships for those carrying out research and studies in these areas.
