Growing points of arctic regions’ economies were at the top of the agenda at “Arctic: today and the future” forum

According to the press release of Murmansk Region Government, agenda of the second day of the forum was presented from the regional point of view. During plenary session governors of Russia’s arctic subjects delivered speeches on results of economic development in 2015 and promising regional projects and initiatives. Development of infrastructure is still among top priorities in the Russian Arctic, and the project of “Complex development of Murmansk transport hub” plays the leading part in this process. Governor Marina Kovtun gave a presentation on Murmansk region development perspectives, including ones in the area of service supply of arctic marine activities and security issues. Governor Marina Kovtun urged her colleagues to get involved into the outlining of law on development of Russian Arctic zone, which has started this year.
