Murmansk Commercial Seaport doubles environmental allocations to RUB 200 mln in 2015

Murmansk Commercial Seaport PAO is going to allocate RUB 200 mln for environmental activities in 2015, which is twice as much as in 2014, the company told IAA PortNews.

Specialists of Italian company WLP S.r.l., global leader in designing and production of industrial equipment for dust suppression, have developed a coal dust suppression system for Murmansk Commercial Seaport. The system consists of four WLP 800 units reaching as far as 110 meters each.

WLP equipment can make mist covering the area of 38,000 m each. The equipment has been tailor made for the Murmansk Region with consideration of its weather conditions and can be used for at temperatures up to -20С°.

The cannons operating either automatically or manually are able to reduce the coal dust concentration within the area covered by mist by over 80%.

Murmansk Commercial Seaport OJSC was established in 1994. The port has 17 berths with total length of some 3,000 meters. The length and depth enables the port to handle vessels of up to 15.5 meters in draught and over 265 meters in length.
