In 2015, inland water ways of Russia carried 117.8 mln t of cargo (-3.7%, year-on-year), IAA PortNews correspondednt cites Victor Vovk, deputy head of the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot) as saying at the joint meeting of the Board and the Public Council of Rosmorrechflot. According to him, cargo deliveries to the Far North territories of Russia fell by 5.1% to 17 mln t.

Meanwhile, passenger transportation by IWW increased by 6.7% to 13.4 mln persons.
The number of locking operations fell by 13.3% to 221,000, the number of vessels involved – by 14.4% to 339 units.
As of December 1, 2015, the number of hydraulic engineering facilities with safety level ‘dangerous’ – 1; ‘unsatisfactory’ – 33; ‘low’ – 199; ‘normal’ - 97.
Total length of inland water ways with guaranteed dimensions – 49,014 km; with lighting and reflecting facilities – 36,946 km.
