Port of Gdansk throughput up 12.6% to 32.87 mln t in 11M’15

In January-November 2015, Port of Gdansk (Poland) handled 32,869,000 t of cargo (+12.6%, year-on-year), the stevedoring company says.

Transshipment of grain fell by 5.9% to 1,377,385 t, transshipment of general cargo and timber climbed by 3.9% to 10,740,033 t, other bulk cargo (aggregates, sulphur, ore) – down 1.9% to 3,140,758 t, coal – up 35.2% to 4,210,274 t, liquid fuel – up 21.1% to 13,400,051. 

The port of Gdansk is a major international transportation hub situated in the central part of the southern Baltic coast. Besides handling bulk cargoes (oil, coal, metal, ores) the port provides a number of line services linking it with the ports of the Baltic Sea and Western Europe (primarily ferry, construction and ro-ro lines). In 2014, the port handled 32,277,558 t of cargo.
