One of the Northern Fleet formations held the first training in 2016 on counteracting underwater sabotage groups of the simulated enemy, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
Military divers and servicemen of the units on nuclear submarine base security were involved in the training.
During the first stage of the training, grenade launcher operators performed firing with standard weapons – Duel DP-61 grenade launcher, which allows to engage enemy divers at the distance of several hundreds of meters.
After that a group of military divers performed detection and elimination of the simulated underwater sabotage group.
During 2016, the Northern Fleet garrisons will be holding such counter-terrorist and anti-sabotage trainings in order to be ready to provide security of military facilities.
