Vyborg Shipyard signed Agreement for Cooperation on construction of fishing trawlers of a new generation
On January 20, 2016, Vyborg Shipyard, a corporate member of United Shipbuilding Corporation, signed an Agreement for Cooperation with Arkhangelsk Trawler Fleet (ATF). Under the terms of the Agreement the companies are planning implementation of the project of construction and commissioning of a series of fishing freezer trawlers of a new generation.
The trawlers will be designed to catch bottom fish species. It is expected that a series of four vessels will be built turnkey at Vyborg Shipyard and handed over to Arkhangelsk Trawler Fleet in 2018-2019. The signing of the Agreement and the joint cooperation of VSY and ATF will make it possible to renovate and bring up to a new level fishing fleet in Russia and support new domestic shipbuilding competencies.
