RZD taps Viktor Golomolzin as Kaliningrad Railway chief

First deputy head of West Siberian Railway Viktor Gomolzin was appointed the new head of Kaliningrad Railway. The appointment was announced by President of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov on January 25 2016 at a meeting with representatives of federal and regional authorities, the KZD top executives and RZD's regional branches, RZD said in a press release.

RZD President said the company announced in 2016 a Passenger Year. "The company is working to make our customers feel comfortable."
Another priority named by RZD President is the safety of traffic which itself is the key to efficient operation.

Deputy presidential envoy to the North Western Federal District Vladimir Solovyov also wished the new leader line success and fruitful work, noting that Kaliningrad Railway is of strategic importance as the entire region transport security depends on its efficient and smooth operation.

Victor Golomolzin was born on February 2, 1971. In 1995 he graduated from the Siberian State Academy of Railway Transport as a major in "Organization of Transport and Management in Railway Transport." He began his career in 1989 as an assistant engineer of Altai Electric Locomotive Depot of West Siberian Railway. Golomolzin was promoted to the head of the Altai branch of West Siberian Railway. In 2012 he was appointed deputy chief of West Siberian Railway, director of Locomotive and railcar department. Prior to yesterday appointment Golomolzin was First Deputy Head of West Siberian Railway.
