Russian Gov't transport committee approves inland water transport development program for the next 13 years

The Government Transport Committee on January 26 at its meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich generally approved the Strategy for the Development of Inland Water Transport of the Russian Federation for the period till 2030, the government press office said.

The Ministry of Transport was tasked to prepare a document for consideration at the next meeting of the government in view of the discussion.
According to the draft Strategy, funding of major infrastructure projects for the development of Russia's inland waterways is valued at about RUB 570 billion.
