Russian Maritime Register of Shipping informs that U.S. Coast Guard issued Marine Safety Information Bulletin 16-15.
Bulletin specifies the following five deficiency areas, found during PSC examinations, which led to detentions of foreign vessels calling at US ports in 2015:
Maintenance of Ship and Equipment (ISM Code);
Oily Water Separating (OWS) Equipment (MARPOL, Annex I);
Fixed Firefighting Installations (SOLAS);
Rescue Boats (SOLAS, Chapter III, Regulation 20.2);
Fire Detection Equipment (SOLAS).
According to the USCG Marine Safety Information Bulletin 16-15, all the interested parties should undertake all the necessary measures to identify deficiencies and take relevant corrective actions prior to vessels entering the US ports.
