FESCO launches new block train on the route Vladivostok — Uzbekistan to Karakul station

FESCO Transportation Group says it launches a block train FESCO Bukhara Shuttle (FEBS) on the route Vladivostok (Russia) — Karakul (Uzbekistan). The train will provide a railway connection for intermodal services operating between Uzbekistan and the countries of Asia-Pacific Region (APR) via Vladivostok.

Block trains will be scheduled twice a month. The service provides the opportunity to deliver using the «last mile» technology. The shipment is available for different forwarders, however goods for the Kandym Gas Processing Plant Construction Project ensures the basic load. The local service in Uzbekistan is provided by Ardena Transport, an agent of FESCO.

The first FEBS train arrived at Karakul Station on April 10. The time en route was 11 days, with the route length of 9,230 km.

The FEBS block train complements other operating services of FESCO in Uzbekistan: FESCO Tashkent Shuttle (a regular train from Vladivostok Station to Chukursay Station, Tashkent), Baltika-Transit (a regular train from Baltic ports to Tashkent and other destinations in the countries of Central Asia and Kazakhstan). The FEBS launch is part of the strategy of expanding presence in Central Asia and increasing the volumes of transit shipments from China and other countries of APR via the Russian Far East.
