SASCO wins Gazprom Flot’s tender on supplying vessels for servicing of drilling rigs

Sakhalin Shipping Company (SASCO) says it has won the tender of Gazprom Flot on supplying of vessels for servicing of drilling rigs.

Under the contract SASCO will provide Gazprom Flot with 6 vessels: two anchor handling tugs, two supply ships and two passenger ships.

Anchor handling tugs Poch Commander and Poch Champion are currently assisting floating drilling rigs Polyarnaya Zvezda and Severnoye Siyaniye from the Chinese port of Yantai north of Sakhalin to Kirinskoye gas and condensate field where exploratory and production drilling will be continued.

Two supply ships and Pelika-type passenger ships will come to Sakhalin by about June 5th. Upon completion of customs procedures they will set sail to the northern part of the island to join the anchor handling tugs.

The works on the shelf are to last till October.

OJSC Sakhalin Shipping Company (SASCO) is one of the largest shipping companies in Russia. SASCO’s own fleet comprising mostly ice-class vessels transports a wide range of cargoes: containers, general cargoes, equipment, suction and grab bulk cargo, timber and wood products. The company provides year-round transportation from the ports of De-Kastri, Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan.
