Rotterdam to host major shipping industry event of the year, Green Shipping Summit 2016
The International Green Shipping Summit will be held in Rotterdam, October 17-18. The event will bring together the industry specialists and decision-makers, the event organizer Business Dynamics said in a media release.
"For many years in the shipping industry, we had been able to sail, moving goods and people without causing harm to our environment, using ships that relied mostly on wind. It was not until the origin of ships that relied on fossil fuel as their energy source; bunkering operations management and scrapping of mega ships, that the shipping industry began doing its own share of harm to the air and waters. Shipping industries have made attempts to minimize these problems and continue searching for clean fuel solutions that would cause less harmful emissions. The experts in the shipping industries are addressing these matters now on technical innovations to ship building improvement, better port management and more efficient technologies," the press release reads.
Following the current trend in the shipping industry, Business Dynamics, the host of the International Green Shipping Summit has created a business and learning platform for sharing and networking among industry experts and business development representatives.
This event creates an opportunity for all participants to learn of the current situation and recent developments in the green shipping industry. They will be able to meet and carry out business with major decision-makers in the field. We will have major industry players speaking at the event: Port of Rotterdam, Shell, Gazprom, Anthony Veder, DNV GL, MAN, Wartsila and many more. They will discuss issues related to the industry pressures, environmental regulations and their impact on the maritime sector as well as low-emission technologies, technical parameters and solutions.
