Container throughput of port Hong Kong (China) down 10.5% to 9.16 mln TEUs in HI’2016

In January-June 2016, port Hong Kong (China) handled 9.16 mln TEUs (+10.5%, year-on-year). According to the port authority, the port’s largest terminal Kwai Tsing handled 7.25 mln TEUs, other terminals handled to 1.91 mln t (-14.9%).

Port Hong Kong is one of the world’s largest ports. It is capable of handling 456,000 vessels per year. In 2015, the port’s container throughput hit 20.11 mln TEUs.
